Kaveh Pahlavan is a professor of electrical and computer engineering, a professor of computer science, and director of the Center for Wireless Information Network Studies, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts.
He is also a visiting Professor of Telecommunication Laboratory and Center for Wireless Communications, University of Oulu, Finland, and the chief technical advisor of Skyhook Wireless, Boston, Massachusetts.

His area of research is localization using signals of opportunity and location-aware broadband sensor and ad hoc networks.

Before joining WPI, he was the director of advanced development at Infinite Inc., Andover, Mass. working on data communications.
He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the International Journal on Wireless Information Networks.
He received an M.S. degree from the University of Teheran and a Ph.D. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
