Aireon’s First Launch for Space-Based ADS-B Network a Success

A January 14 launch of 10 Iridium NEXT satellites will help implement a space-based automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast (ADS-B) developed by Aireon, in partnership with leading Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) from around the world, and designed to provide real-time GNSS tracking of aircraft over oceanic regions.

Chicago-Area Magazine Editor Joins Inside GNSS

Stan Goff, a seasoned writer and editor for a variety of professional magazines, has joined Inside GNSS as managing editor. He will be responsible for day-to-day operations and production of the print publication and insidegnss.com.

He will work with founding editor Glen Gibbons.

Goff lives and works in the Chicago area, where he spent 17 years as a senior editor and executive editor for Advanstar Communications business to business magazines. Earlier, he was a sports editor for Sun Publications.

European Commission, GSA Issue Third Call for Galileo, EGNOS R&D Contracts

The European Commission (EC) has opened the third round of competition for €33 million (US$35.15 million) in Horizon 2020 (H2020) contracts for development of European GNSS (EGNSS) applications exploiting use of Galileo and the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS).

NovAtel Partners for Autonomous Vehicle Safety Research
