PCTEL, Inc.
, has introduced its new Medallion GSM/WIFI/WIMAX/GPS multi-band antenna featuring a rugged low profile housing that allows omnidirectional reception.

This Medallion offers multi-band coverage 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G and WiFi/WiMAX frequencies, with GPS L1 capability for a variety of wireless applications, including public safety and emergency response vehicles, mass transit, fleet management and asset tracking, field measurement and wireless network optimization, and wireless data terminals.

Measuring 5.1 x 4.95 x 1.7 inches (129.6 x 125.8 x 43.1 millimeters), the antenna has a IP56-compliant design with a custom over-molded gasket adding protection against water or dust ingress under severe environmental conditions. The Medallion comes with a 17-foot coax cable length: RG-58/U (RF element), RG-58/U (broadband wireless element), and RG-174/U (GPS).

The GPS antenna gain is 3.5dBic and the typical noise figure is 1.6dB. According to the company, filtering provides 20-decibel rejection at +/- 100 MHz from the center frequency of 1575.42 MHz.
