Jose Lopez-Salcedo received his Ph.D. degree in telecommunications engineering from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain.
He is an associate professor at the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where he is also the coordinator of the telecommunication engineering studies.
Salcedo has been involved in more than 30 research projects for private industry and public administrations on topics related to signal processing, wireless communications, and GNSS. He has been the principal investigator of several projects on robust and adaptive tracking techniques for GNSS in harsh scintillation conditions, funded by the European Space Agency (ESA).
In 2014, he was on leave at the European Commission, Joint Research Center in Ispra, Italy, working on the compatibility assessment between amateur radio and Galileo commercial services in the E6 band.
His research interests lie in the field of signal processing for wireless communications and navigation, and the convergence of 5G/GNSS systems. He is the general co-chair of the ICL-GNSS 2016 conference.
