Michael Shaw is the director of the National Coordination Office for Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), where he is responsible for carrying out the mission, objectives, and goals of the U.S. National Space-Based PNT Executive Committee in accordance with the U.S. Space-Based PNT policy.
Shaw represents the EXCOM on space-based PNT matters within the government, the public sector, and with representatives of foreign governments and international organizations.
Previously, Shaw was the director of Navigation and Spectrum Policy in the Office of the Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Before that, he was the director of operations, and later, the commander of the 2d Satellite Operations Squadron, which is responsible for the command, and control of the GPS satellite constellation.
Following retirement from the Air Force, among other positions Shaw served as the assistant for GPS, positioning, and navigation in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control, Communication, and Intelligence (C3I) where he developed and coordinated policy, planning, and strategy for GPS in the Department of Defense.
