ION 2010 Autonomous Weapons Summit and GNC Challenges for Miniature Autonomous Systems Workshop

The Institute of Navigation’s Autonomous Weapons Summit (AWS) and& GNC Challenges for Miniature Autonomous Systems Workshop will be be held October 25-27, 2010 at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, Fort Walton Beach, Florida.


The Institute of Navigation’s Autonomous Weapons Summit (AWS) and& GNC Challenges for Miniature Autonomous Systems Workshop will be be held October 25-27, 2010 at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Abstract submissions will be accepted through August 13.

The first two days of the conference are FOUO: for official use only. Presenters include representatives of Unified Combatant Commands, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and service weapons acquisition leaders. On the second day, government laboratory representatives will provide talks and participate in FOUO workshops.

Participants on Monday and Tuesday must be U.S. citizens, DoD personnel, and support contractors whose attendance is related to their position or program. All visit requests must be received by October 15, 2010, and be approved by the AFRL/RW Security Office. 

On October 27, business and academic experts will discuss science and technology topics relevant to autonomous weapons and systems concepts, demonstrations, and guidance, navigation, and control. 

The events are sponsored by ION with the support of AFRL: the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Munitions Directorate.
