ICG-7 is scheduled for November 5-9 2012. It will be hosted by China and will take place at the Beijing International Convention Center (BICC) in the Asian Games Village section of the city. The chair of ICG-7 is Ran Chengqi, director general of the Chinese Satellite Navigation Office (CSNO).

Online registration closes Saturday midnight, September 15. After that, you must contact the ICG Executive Secretariat and make special arrangments in order to attend.

This meeting will feature two technical group tours of the Academies of Space Technology and Aerospace Electronics and the Summer Palace.

The International Committee on GNSS (ICG), is a voluntary United Nations–backed association that brings together GNSS and augmentation providers — including the United States, Russia, European Union, China, India, and Japan.

The purpose of the group is to encourge consultations among ICG members for the benefit of GNSS users and their service needs; to achieve compatibility and strive toward interoperability among the systems and to help developing countries integrate satellite positioining, navigation and timing services into their infrastructures.

The forums also focus communication between GNSS providers and the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), ITU (International Telecommunication Union) and the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and other similar groups.

Previous meetings have been held in Tokyo, Japan; Turin, Italy; St. Petersburg, Russia; Pasadena,California USA; Bangalore, India; and the founding meeting in Vienna, Austria.
