ISSSTA 2008 International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and ApplicationsBologna, Italy
The 10th ISSSTA symposium will be held at the Savoia Hotel Regency in Bologna, Italy this August. The theme is "Creating New Dimensions in the Wireless World." Of particular interest are a session on GNSS, Tuesday, August 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a session on postioning and navigation on Thursday afternoon, August 28. The main social event will be held at Villa Griffone, the home of radio communications pioneer Guglielmo Marconi, as part of the celebrations for the centennial anniversary of the Marconi Nobel Prize (1909). The host is the Department of Electronics, Computer Sciences, and Systems (DEIS) Advanced Research Center on on Electronic Systems for Information and Communication Technologies "Ercole De Castro" - (ARCES) of UNIBO (University of Bologna). ASMS 2008- Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems ConferenceBologna, Italy
The fourth ASMS conference will be held at the Savoia Hotel Regency in Bologna, Italy in August. Of particular interest is the session on Global Navigation Satellite systems on Thursday afternoon, August 28. The session will cover GNSS receiver reference design, wideband receiver antennas of sensor stations for GPS and Galileo, a software receiver implemnetation for GPS L1 and Galileo E1 signals, and SUPL architecture for A-GPS. The event is organized by the University of Bologna (UNIBO) and the Institute for Communications and Navigation of DLR on behalf of the ISI (Integral SatCom Initiative) European Technology Platform and in cooperation with the Satellite Communications Network of Excellence (SatNEx). GNSS Vulnerabilities and Solutions ConferenceBaška, Krk Island, Croatia
Now in its second year, this new conference will focus on problems and vulnerabilities, and in particular, on developments aiming to improve the accuracy and reliability of the various GNSSes. Issues to be discussed include: core system developments and vulnerabilities, augmentation systems, space weather and ionospheric effects on positioning, tropospheric effects on positioning, multipath mitigation, navigation algorithms, receiver and antenna design, system integration, application-related end user experience. The deadline for extended abstracts (300-500 words) is March 15, 2008. Please submit them to Dr. Renat0 Filjar, FRIN (email address below). The event is sponored by the Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN), London, UK and its new Croatian Branch, as well as the University of Nottingham, UK. EUNAVTEC: European Navigation Technologies Trade Fair and CongressDresden, Germany
According to EuNavTec's organizers, their October show is the first trade fair in the world to focus especially on satellite navigation technologies. The exhibition wil provide an extensive overview of the entire value-added chain within the navigation industry. More than 200 exhibitors from 12 countries are expected to participate. The event will also feature a congress, forums, and an innovation exchange at the Messe Dresden (Dresden Conference Center) in October. The conference subject areas include GNSS systems, land and air transportation, shipping, safety-critical applications, telematics, and energy and resource management. Special exhibits are featured on satellite earth observation, test and working environments for the Galileo system, and networking of crisis center information.
