The 14th Conference on Space Weather, sponsored by the American Meteorological Society, and organized by the AMS Committee on Space Weather, will be held January 22 – 26 2017, as part of the 97th AMS Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.

The theme for the 2017 AMS Annual Meeting is ““Observations Lead the Way.” The theme unifies the Society’s vision of where the field is right now, and how it will advance in the future. the Annual Meeting will hold a special symposium, “Observation Symposium: Progress, Problems, and Prospects,” that will identify the highest-priority observational needs across the weather, water and climate enterprise. In addition, many of the conferences and symposia at the meeting will have sessions addressing the greatest observational requirements in their disciplines.

The 14th Conference will organize sessions in the following areas:

  • Moving the Space Weather Action Plan (SWAP) Forward
  • The Scientific Uses of CubeSats
  • Observational Platforms for Space Weather
  • Major Scientific Challenges in Space Weather
  • How space weather changed the world – almost
