3rd China Satellite Navigation Conference (CSNC 2012)

Last year’s Satellite Navigation Conference, held in Shanghai.

The CSNC, now in its third year, is an open platform for academic exchanges in the field of satellite navigation. Its aim is to encourage technological innovation, accelerate GNSS engineering and boost the development of the satellite navigation industry in China.

The conference will be held May 15-19 2012 at the Poly World Trade Center, Exhibit Hall 6,  in Guangzhou, China.

The preliminary program has been posted and English language online registration is open.

This official event frequently is an opportunity for the Chinese government to announce news about Compass/BeiDou2. It is sponsored by China Satellite Navigation Office; the National Space Administration; Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization, Ministry of Science and Technology, P.R.C;  State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and others.

The chair of the scientific committee is Sun Jiadong, chief designer of Compass/BeiDou2. The distinguished engineer designed China’s first satellite and since 1967 has been a leader in China’s space efforts. The list of committee members and session chairs is posted in English here.
